Game of The Month: Injustice Gods Among us

injustice-header-640x360

Injustice Gods Among us is your Game of the month. Mainly for one big reason: It’s content. The last fighting round game to be filled with so much to do, was ironically Mortal Kombat 9. Both titles were designed by Netherrealm. Plain and simple this company fully understands what is expected from gamers in this modern age. “Injustice is a hook up for comic book fans hardcore and casual. It does your favorite heroes justice, while implementing modes and gameplay that will keep players coming back. Lots to do here folks.” This is the high score winner.

Django Unchained Home Release

django-unchained

The two-time Academy award-winning film( should have won more than that!)  ranks high with us. Brilliant performances from everybody, and a controversial script made this Tarantino film one of his best ever. It’s too bad DiCaprio and Jackson were snubbed, they really played their roles well. Awesome action scenes, and some genuinely hilarious parts helped add to this movie magic. Did you know there’s a little something after the credits? Its worth the wait. By this now, and support the originality.

Undertaker Vs CM Punk (Wrestlemania 29)

20130408_EP_LARGE_WMTaker_R

It was the grandaddy of them all. Wrestlemania 29. While the main event was a super predictable affair which saw Cena pinning The Rock, the under card with the deadman stole the show again. Plenty of near falls for both competitors, and dangerous spots that saw Cm Punk badly damage his leg on an announcer’s table that wouldn’t break. He has yet to return to the ring because of it. Both guys put it all on the line which was without a doubt the best match of the night. Undertaker’s entrance was a sight to behold. Fans could see zombie-like people reaching for him as he came to the ring. That’s just cool.

Trailer of the month: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

BloodDragon-3

Steph-O Writes “This stand alone expansion is all about 80′s nostalgia, complete with neon colors, synth music, and VHS static lines!” Indeed, this game doesn’t take itself too serious, and is loaded with scifi cheesiness. available now on PS3 and Xbox 360 for $14.99, you can download this unique title, and Check out The trailer of the month Right now!

Wii U: Balloon Fight Virtual Console Review

09KUgAW2MqH16SQ5QKQVIKh8_vg7ajZtReal Talk By: Ms. Throwback

Balloon Fight was available on the Virtual Console at Nintendo’s special promotional price of a whopping .32 cents.  How could you not at least try the Virtual Console titles at that price? Originally Available as a playable arcade title in 1984, Balloon Fight has gained large popularity as a classic in the gaming world.  To date it has had five re-releases on five different consoles from systems to handhelds and is still on of the most simple fun games to play.

Gameplay is incredibly simple.  The player smashes either the A or B button causing the character to flap his arms and rise or fall while being carried by the balloons on his back.  If one of the balloons pop the character is a little harder to control and if both balloons pop the player falls into nothingness and must start over.  While in flight the objective is to pop balloons of other players on the screen.  Addictive and entertaining the simplicity of Balloon Fight is one of the greatest points of the game.

All of the game pads for the Wii U are supported with this title.  I choose to use the Wii U Pro Pad and while the visuals, music, and controls of the game are crisp and clear through the Wii U I seemed to have a slight issue with frame rate while playing the title in 1080p.  This problem is solved easily by turning the frame rate down to 480p although this might be a problem that your average person doesn’t even notice.

Balloon Fight is a steal at .32 cents, even for well over a few bucks this title would be worth the play through for those of us that haven’t played it in quite a while.  Nintendo will be launching other titles for the same promotional price and considering that some of these titles were breakthrough and cutting edge for their time. Get them while they last. It’s worth scrounging around your house to find the spare change to enjoy them again.
