Castlevania on Netflix Review

Castlevania has been a video game standard for over 30 years since the release of the very first game in 1986. It’s been a hit with gamers and critics alike, and was one of the very first widely successful games with a horror motif. Even though vampires, ghouls, and the man himself, Dracula, have been staples of movies and books for over 100 years, Castlevania itself hasn’t had much media outside the game franchise until now, with the release of the direct-to-Netflix anime written by comic book author Warren Ellis, simply called “Castlevania”. New Releases: Week of August 2nd, 2010

This week’s lineup of new games brings with it despair. Mostly because there is not really much coming out this week, but partly because this week sees the release of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair to Xbox Live Arcade. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair features worlds and characters from various Castlevania games and 6 player co-op. Also coming out this week is BlayzBloo: Super Melee Action Battle Royale on DSiWare. BlayzBloo has the potential to be a fun DSiWare game, featuring chibi versions of BlazBlue characters and 4 player 3D arena combat.
