Shakedown: Hawaii’s Over The Top Overview Trailer is Here

Shakedown: Hawaii is coming to Steam, Switch, PS4, PS VITA, and The 3DS.  Slated for release in Q1 of 2019.  We’re getting very close to the next phase in open-world action.  VBlank Entertainment brought us the excellent Retro City Rampage.  Players can expect mayhem on that level, and then some.  Earn some “Gangsta Cred” and build your own empire.  This is definitely high on our Indie Radar. Okami HD [Switch] Review: A Celestial Touch

It’s remarkable how well Clover Studio’s Okami still looks and feels for a game that came out originally on the PS2 way back in 2006. At the time, Capcom was publishing some industry defining games, coming off the heels of Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube. Clover Studio, the team that developed titles exclusively for Capcom (which has since sort of morphed into Platinum Games) was following up their incredible work on Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2. In a bit of an underdog story, many publications held Okami in even higher regard than that year’s hugely anticipated Zelda entry, Twilight Princess. Dead Cells [Switch] Review: New Ways to Die

With no shortage of Metroidvania or rogue-like indie games in 2018, Motion Twin’s Dead Cells arrives with something to prove. While in early access on the PC for some time, Dead Cells’ final build is now available on all platforms. What I discovered was an enthralling, challenging, single-player 2D action platformer that wasn’t afraid to bring new ideas into the fold. Dead Cells’ gameplay DNA is heavy on combat customization and throws players into interconnected environments that splinter off into multiple paths — all of which reward speed and tactical coordination. Inside these levels Motion Twin draw on a number of influences that when tossed into the cauldron conjure an adventure that is both masochistic and pleasantly rewarding. Hollow Knight [Switch] Review: A Haunted Underground Classic

Released originally on PC in 2017, Hollow Knight is a kickstarter-backed Metroidvania 2D action platformer that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Now available on Switch, Hollow Knight comes complete with all the free content packs released last year and a number of game updates. The first thing you’ll notice when you start your journey is how gorgeous Hollow Knight looks and how beautiful the piano based soundtrack is by Christopher Larkin.
