Ms. Throwback and I mixed our All-Time favorite Wii games together to bring you the very best. It was a challenge with so many 1st and 3rd party classics floating around. The Wii Minis are making their way into the market, but production on the main console has ceased. Fret not, you can still buy any of these games mentioned and play on your Wii U. It’s the only console of this current generation that seems to understand the importance of backwards compatibility. Before we set things off, Here is our Honorable Mentions:
Red Steel 2
Samurai/Western Crossover that really worked. Still the best sword motion controls to date. Period.
Punch Out!!
Nice update of a classic series. Whether you used motion controls or classic, this punch out is just as challenging as the rest.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
This Emblem has a solid cell-shaded look, and the feature to save in battle. Very crucial since death is permanent in this universe.
Mario Kart Wii
Nice online component. In fact probably the only Nintendo game from this gen that had it down.
Kirby’s Epic Yarn
An innovative art direction, that worked well. We look forward to Yoshi’s yarn adventure in the future.
Some of those honourable mentions would have made my top 10 list for the system. I was a big fan of Fire Emblem, Kirby and Mario Kart.
